Does Climate Change Threaten Affordable Housing?
This analysis explores two related concerns: the vulnerability of current affordable housing to sea level rise and storm surge, and the potential for gentrification-driven displacement in higher-elevation, historically lower-income neighborhoods that are becoming more desirable due to their lower flood risk.
In this project, I cleaned data from the ACS, Miami Data Hub, FEMA, NOAA to draw connections between zoning policy and areas at risk of flooding or storm surge.
